Additional application period for Environmental Engineering and Information Technology

Some study places are still available for the degree programme in Environmental Engineering and Information Technology. Therefore Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences arranges an additional application period for them!!

Fill in the form and send it with required enclosures to Mikkeli UAS Admissions Office by 21 June at 3 p.m. (Finnish time) at the latest.

Eligibility

• Finnish matriculation examination or upper secondary school leaving certificate 
• European baccalaureate, International baccalaureate or Reifeprüfung examination, 
• Vocational qualification of  three years or more in duration (less than three years gives eligibility when in the same field of study) 
• Non-Finnish degree or studies equivalent to the above mentioned qualifications.

Language skills
All applicants must prove their skills in the English language. Applicants from non-EU/EEA countries deliver proof of language skills when demonstrating their eligibility to apply (IELTS or TOEFL). The language skills of applicants from EU/EEA-countries are evaluated in the entrance examination (exemption from the language test is possible by providing certificate of language skills by 21 June).

The minimum language skills requirement is
-  IELTS score academic level 6.0 or
- TOEFL score 550 for paper-based / 79-80 for internet-based test or
-  grade C in the Finnish Matriculation examination in advanced level English
-  skills level 4 in English in the Finnish general language examination.

In addition, secondary school education in English completed in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, or a Bachelor or Master degree completed in English in one of these countries, is also accepted as a demonstration of sufficient English language skills.

TOEFL and IELTS results are valid for two years.
TOEFL score results are only accepted directly from the Education Testing Service.
Copies of IELTS results are accepted, they are confirmed using IELTS TRF Verification Service.

Discretionary admission
Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences uses discretionary admission also in this additional application round.

Enclosures to Application

Applicants with non-Finnish qualification
• a copy of the original certificate and transcript of records 
• a copy of an authorised Finnish or English translation of the certificate, it the original is not written in one of these languages. 
• proof of sufficient English language skills (if you are not a citizen of an EU/EEA-country).

Applicants with Finnish qualification
• a copy of the original degree certificate 
• a language skills certificate, if other than Finnish matriculation examination

Entrance examination

All eligible applicants are invited to the entrance examination by email. After receiving the application, Mikkeli UAS will send an email invitation to all eligible applicants. Invitations to entrance examinations are only send by email, not by post.

Entrance examination is arranged on 23 June 2010 at 12.00 noon (local time) in the following location:
Mikkeli UAS, Kasarmi Campus, building M (Mikpoli), Patteristonkatu 2, Mikkeli, Finland.

Entrance examination is arranged also in Saint Petersburg, Russia on on 23 June 2010. The registration starts at 10.00 (local time). The adress is Bolshaja Konjushennaja, 8 (in a court yard), Suomi talo (Suomi Building). Tel. +7 812 603 26 08, +7 812 603 26 09.
