INCOMING EXCHANGE STUDENTS TO MIKKELI UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES
The Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences is an institution of higher education offering degree programmes in the fields of Natural Resources, Business and Administration, Technology and Transport, Social Work and Health Care, Culture, Tourism, Catering and Institutional Management as well as Humanities and Education. The Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences has campuses in the towns of Mikkeli, Savonlinna and Pieksämäki, all located in the picturesque Lake Region of Eastern Finland.

Mikkeli UAS uses an Online Application System for incoming exchange students. Please, fill in the requested information and submit the application form to us. The application period for the autumn term and the whole academic year is April 1 - June 15, 2010. For the spring term the application period is August 15 - October 15, 2010. Courses for the academic year 2010-2011 are available here. Please note, that minor changes are possible.
In addition to the above mentioned studies, courses are offered in English during the International Summer Term. The application period for the summer courses is February 15 - March 31. More information about the summer courses at at www.efist.org.
Exchange students to Mikkeli
When your application is complete and approved we will send the admission documents for you to the coordinator at your home institution. Information on course schedules will be e-mailed directly to the student. Accommodation needs to be applied from the local housing company MOAS. Detailed information about the accommodation and the application is available here.
MAMOK (Mikkeli Student Union) releases Survival Kits for exchange students.
As soon as you know the exact date and time of your arrival, please email us (at least two weeks prior to arrival) and we try to arrange a tutor to pick you up from central station in Mikkeli. The train and bus timetables can be found at www.vr.fi and www.matkahuolto.com.

Exchange students to Savonlinna
Exchange students are also welcome to Savonlinna. In Savonlinna accommodation is provided through SAO (the Savonlinna Students` and Young Persons` Housing Company). You are asked to inform us of the exact date and time of your arrival as soon as possible to be able to arrange a tutor to meet you at the railway station, bus station or at the airport.

Exchange students to Pieksämäki
The Campus of Forestry in Pieksämäki, which is also called Nikkarila, is located 75 km to the north from Mikkeli. There is own residence in Nikkarila in the school area where the exchange students will have their economical lodging. Also other services like library, laundry, catering are quite near to the residence. Nikkarila is situated about 3 km from the centre of Pieksämäki. All incoming exchange students will be provided with the necessary information concerning their arrival, studies and living in Nikkarila.
